Food and reception. These two are among the critical things couples must consider for their wedding. Guests may not remember your wedding date but they will never forget the taste of the food served. It goes the same with the reception. The guests may not remember the entire program but they'll surely take selfie or groufie photos during your reception..
For soon to be married couples, we also have this dilemma. But we were lucky to be invited as media partners in Ibarra's Grand Food Tasting. Ibarra's had been in the industry for more than a decade making them one of the preferred venues and caterers in the country. Established in 2001, its banquet industry operation started at Padre Faura St. in Manila. Ibarra's was known for its art deco facade, wood-paneled floors, and intimate garden patio reminiscent of Old Manila.
As the clientele grew, Ibarra's expanded its reach to key cities in the country:
• Ibarra's Garden (Padre Faura) is the first branch located in the heart of Manila, surrounded by the oldest and most beautiful churches in the Philippines.
• Plaza Ibarra (Timog, Quezon City) has a beautiful garden set up complete with grand staircases.
• Bella Ibarra (Quezon Avenue, QC) is strategically accessible with three floors and three elegant rooms.
• Villa Ibarra (Tagaytay) is a quaint Bed & Breakfast complete with eight rooms and a banquet room, overlooking Taal Volcano.
• Casa Ibarra (MOA, Pasay City), newest sophisticated venue that will open by third quarter of 2017
Last April 2, we were privileged to have attended one of their Grand Food Tasting in Bella Ibarra. And here are the reasons you should attend their next event:
1. You have an access to their new offers
When we arrived, we were offered welcome drinks from their refreshing and colorful juice bar. It was completely arranged with a fancy presentation (rustic theme for this event) and has four refreshing flavors - Cucumber Punch, Blue Fizz, Orange Sunrise and Lychee Burst. This welcome drink station will not only easily capture guests' attention but will also quench their thirst because they can drink-all-you-can. What's also good is there's an option to add mason jar souvenirs as a keepsake for guests.
2. You can personally examine the event venues.
Bella Ibarra has three floors with three elegant rooms to choose from. Victoria, where the event was held, can accommodate up to 150-180 persons. There's also a balcony area, where you can consider as smoking area or an extension for your guests area. Sofia, the biggest among the rooms, is located on the 2nd floor and can accommodate up to 200 persons. Both rooms have their VIP room where couples can take a rest before the program or brides can change their gowns and do retouch. Last but not the least, Mara, is perfect for intimate weddings for it can accommodate 50-80 persons.
What's good about Ibarra's Grand Food Tasting Event is all the rooms were dressed up during the event so you can have a feel of how events are held on each rooms. Truly, every room exudes classic elegance.
I suggest that you take this opportunity to envision how you would style the venue and the floor plan (i.e. guests' tables, photobooth area, etc).. Is this part of the article or something that we input an information
- Mara Function Room
- Sophia Function Room
- Victoria Function Room
3. You can avail huge discounts & freebies.
One the best reasons to attend the event is the discounts, freebies and giveaways.
Here's a sneak peak of freebies they offer during the event:
• For on-premise catering (minimum of 100 pax), you get to choose one of the following freebies: welcome drinks, waived corkage for 5 wines, Ibarra's Paella Valenciana Voucher for 2 persons to be availed at Villa Ibarra & waived corkage for lechon.
• For first 10 bookers (minimum of 100 pax, on-premise catering): additional 1 hour photobooth, 5 bottles of wine for tasting, pre-event cocktails, VIP floral arrangement and Ibarra's Juice Bar.
There are also freebies for off-premise catering.
4. You can have a taste of their sumptuous menu.
The main highlight of the event - food tasting! They serve 4 main dishes: Broccoli cauliflower hollandaise, Red curry mixed seafoods, Chicken breast spinach gratin, Hickory pork spareribs bbq; and their well-loved Paella Valenciana. I cannot pick one as my favorite because all the dishes taste so tasty and delicious. As for the Paella, they really serve it special with lots of seafood more than you thought.
One of their loyal clients can also attest to the excellent taste of food.
"The food is so great. Not just from us but also the visitors, pinupuri talaga nila (they are really praising the food)... We've been to a lot of weddings pero iba ung food nila (but Ibarra's food is different) Even mentioning a 5-star hotel, I'd [still] go for them [Ibarra]," says Odette Cunanan.
Cunanan's family has celebrated significant occasions in Ibarra's party venues - her parents' silver wedding anniversary, her very own debut and now her brother's wedding!
There was also a pasta station where guests can choose from the three kinds of pasta (penne, linguine & green fettuccine) and then which sauce they prefer (four cheese, pomodoro and pesto walnut). All the sauces taste great but pomodoro captured my taste bud. I think guests would love this because every guest has their own preference when it comes to pasta.
I'm not the only one who fell in love with their pasta. Orlando Concha, new client who booked on the spot during the event, has nothing but positive words for Ibarra.
"Totoo nga ung sabi ng iba na masarap talga and sabi rin ng friend namin na nagtry dito before, even ung mga kakilala nila na matagal ng, talagang di raw nagbabago ung taste ng food, so yun nga, favorite ko ung pasta. Every food is perfect. Tingin ko di naman kami mapapahiya sa mga bisita," shared by Concha.
(My friends, who tried here before, and even their acquaintances, told me that the taste of their food never changes. And it's true My favorite is their pasta. Every food is perfect. I think we won't be embarrassed to our guests.)
Aside from the main dish and pasta, they also served the dessert bar where assorted pastries and fresh fruits where served. My personal favorite was the coffee jelly because it has a rich taste of coffee perfectly blended with the cream.
5. You can meet wedding suppliers.
Another good thing about Ibarra is that they have included full amenities in their basic packages which makes it easier for couples to prepare for their big day. Rather than booking different suppliers, Ibarra has tied up with the finest suppliers. And during the event, you can also meet them! Some of which includes - Host, Anthony De Guzman, Styling by Perfect Petals, Souvenirs by Malois, Cakes by Angelyn's and Hearts & Bells, Photobooth/Documentation by Quickprint, Make Up by Michael Celestino and MC Rent-A-Car . Aside from talking with these suppliers personally, they have also awarded free services/products to some raffle winners.
6. You will experience how the team treats their clients.
From the moment we entered the venue until the end of the program, we really felt that all the staff were very accommodating. They are hands-on to their clients and are focused on every detail for the event.
Ibarra's basic package is the Standard Wedding package starts at Php 137,000 good for 150 persons. That's inclusive of amenities such as wedding cake, souvenirs or photobooth, sparkling wine, bridal car, use of courtesy room, lights and sounds with tech rider, tiffany chairs with set up and more. There are also other packages available with more amenities and additional offers, so clients will have a wide range of choices.
They can also adjust to the client's requirement. This falls under their "Other packages." Some of these packages cost Php 30,000 - Php 40,000 good for 50 persons.
So for food lovers looking for complete wedding packages, I highly recommend Bella Ibarra for your big day. Elegant yet affordable but with complete amenities.
